Don't want to be obstinate and I realise I probably have an unusual use case,
but I think this kind of thing is slowly getting more common:
I have multiple monitors with different ppi. I can set different kate sessions
to open with sets of docs on various monitors. However I can't comfortably use
the same zoom level across monitors. So every time I restore I have to manually
zoom every doc in some of the kate sessions.

I also tend to remember the tab order, and navigate by it, so I also have to
shuffle the tabs back to where they used to be on each restore.

I would argue that "remember where I left it" is generally the right thing to
do in most situations.

Just my (weird?) opinion.
