This dconf key is what GNOME uses and is read by `flatpak`, `gsd-xsettings`,
and `gtk3` (on Wayland). The ini file method is flawed as it isn't readable
from a sandboxed application, changes can't be detected, etc. (Note that the
schemas is provided by `gsettings-desktop-schemas` which may not be installed)
