Yes, this is the reason I would like it to be declared stable not to far into
the future. I think v6 might be a candidate for this, but exactly how it'll
look is undecided. You should be able to find a couple of patches on the
mailing list with that changes the interface object tree structure and adding a
non-grabbing popup. One part that is not on the list is a popup positioning
system enabling declarative menu positioning, but it'll be sent to the list
quite soon.

So far the v6 has only one semantical change merged so far, please see the
