In fact, the majority of my searches require for code to be found throughout the whole tranche of code. Searching from the current cursor position only is a faulty or incomplete search. If you look at my pop-up example on my previous bug report you will see that there is plenty of space for such a radio button, in fact it hardly takes up any space at all. It should be clicked by default and allow a search from the cursor location only when unclicked. Once again I think this is a reasonable request as it will make Kate act like other very decent editors and it will then incorporate what Windows users have come to expect. I'd like Kate to have a wider audience and Windows users expect this sort of functionality by default. I have had this 'advanced' functionality for years and years on Context and Notepad++, on the VB6 IDE &c.
