            Bug ID: 389868
Summary: More detailed progress while scanning database
           Product: digikam
           Version: 5.8.0
          Platform: MS Windows
                OS: MS Windows
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Keywords: usability
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Database-Scan
          Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
          Reporter: iwannaber...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Not a bug, just suggesting an improvement.

Scanning for new albums is slow. Very slow. And the only indication we have is
a progress bar at the bottom of the screen (and the network traffic). For a
network library it can easily take hours to days to scan, and what's worse, you
never know exactly what folders are being scanned. Right now, in my case, for a
library that was already fully scanned before, progress is still at 4% after a
couple of hours.

It would be great if, when opening the progress bar, you could get a more
detailed view and see what folders and files are being scanned at that very
moment. I know you can see that if you start digikam from a console in linux,
but there's no way to see it in windows.

Thanks for your attention and keep up the good work!
