The way the code looks, injecting

<meta http-equiv="x-dns-prefetch-control" content="off">

to the top of any html mail should do.
Otherwise the behavior seems intended. You can configure the default behavior,
but the webpage has the last word on this.

ceterum censeo: dropping html mail support would reliably fix this :-P
