Well, this is mandatory, else the GUI layout will be broken.
Try to use the list-view mode in this case instead the icon view. You can
change the columns layout and especially the size of one including file name.
It work like a file manager.
Other option : the propertie tab from right side bar. When you select an item,
the space to display file name is larger and adjustable like you want.
