If it's not a lot of trouble, a cachegrind API call to mark regions of memory
cache cold/evicted would be helpful for profiling logic that processes network
and other data delivered via DMA buffers. Some hardware configurations can
send DMA transfers directly to cache but this advanced feature does not apply
in all situations or on every platform.
