What is your xdg-desktop-portal-kde version? There was a bug that xdp-kde
doesn't open folder specified by Firefox, which has been fixed in version
5.14.5. It's also possible that ths is a bug in Firefox, because when you
specify it should use portals, then Firefox assumes it is running in sandbox
and might behave differently in storing/retrieving users configuration.
