I just tried the latest appimage as the Lubuntu repo version is old. It seems
to run, but gives these in the terminal:
$ ./kdenlive-18.12.1b-x86_64.appimage
QApplication: invalid style override passed, ignoring it.
Empty filename passed to function
[a bunch of "loading", "format"s, and "codecs" listed...]
...
