Does this still happen with the latest version of Kontact/Akregator as well as
KDE Plasma and Frameworks? Have you tried to issue following commands in
Konsole or any terminal and seen what would happen?
```
akonadictl fsck && akonadictl restart
```
The latest stable version is 5.10.1 in my case.
```
cnzhx@ostp:~> akregator --version
akregator 5.10.1
cnzhx@ostp:~> kontact --version
kontact 5.10.1
cnzhx@ostp:~>
```
