SUMMARY
I'm using localized (polish) version of Plasma. My desktop by default displays
files located at '~/Pulpit' ('pulpit' is 'desktop' in polish). After hitting F5
Plasma created directory '~/Desktop' and started displaying its content
(nothing at first).
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install Kubuntu with polish locale
2. Place files on desktop
3. Refresh desktop
OBSERVED RESULT
Desktop icons are no longer visible
EXPECTED RESULT
Desktop icons are visible
