The active window control applet is part of openSUSE Tumbleweed and you should
install from there, not from store.kde.org. It needs to be compiled to have all
functions. When you use the version from the Tumbleweed repo, all should work
fine.
(Of course, this applet does not seems to be developed anymore, so it is
available until it breaks.)
