* Did you get an OS or GPU driver updated around the time this started
happening? I AM NOT AWARE OF ANY DRIVER UPDATES.

* Please update to a current version of Krita, we're at 4.2.8 now. UPDATE TO
4.2.8 COMPLETE. THE PROBLEM PERSISTS.

* Try to disable canvas acceleration or switch to opengl or angle, depending on
what is selected in Settings->Configure Krita->Display. Best try all three
options... TRIED THAT SOME MONTHS AGO.

* Also, check whether your GPU drivers are up to date. From the screenshot,
this looks like a driver bug, I'm afraid.

YES, THEY ARE UP TO DATE.

* Check whether running Krita as another user "fixes" the issue.

YES! I CREATED A SECOND USER ACCOUNT AND KRITA IS WORKING ON THE SECOND
ACCOUNT. THE DISPLAY SCALE WAS DIFFERENT ON THE DESKTOP AND IN KRITA.

* Check whether selecting a different scaling setting in Windows 10's display
settings.

YES! IT WORKS. I HAD TO SCALE DOWN FROM 250% TO 200% AND NOW KRITA IS WORKING.
IT'S A SLIGHT ANNOYANCE TO HAVE TO SWITCH BETWEEN THE TWO EACH TIME I WANT TO
OPEN AN IMAGE, BUT IT'S WORKABLE (OR MAYBE i CAN TRAIN MYSELF TO GET USED TO
TINY TEXT AT 200% ZOOM).
