The guide positions are calculated correctly inside of the brush outline (cursor image), though it leaves a large mess around the screen when the cursor is moved (as if a somewhat bigger brush is painting the screen with little broken bits of perspective line). When dragging the scroll bar, the guide lines are calculated correctly across the screen, but they stop updating the moment you let go of the slider. This shows that the lines *can* be drawn correctly without OpenGL, though I don't know how much work it would be to actually fix it.
