SUMMARY
The map panel on the left allows you search pictures by drawing a rectangle on
the map. However, when you try to reposition the map after making a selection,
another rectangle is drawn and the previous selection is lost. It feels
"sticky".
I believe that it would make sense to default to the pan mode when opening that
panel, let the user switch to "select images by drawing a rectangle", and then
go back to pan mode once the rectangle has been drawn.
What do you think?
