Bug ID: 422317 Summary: Wrong folder size calculation for /var folder with docker images Product: filelight Version: 20.04 Platform: Manjaro OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: martin.sandsm...@kde.org Reporter: mail.alex.voro...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 128970 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=128970&action=edit Filelight vs ncdu SUMMARY Filelight shows wrong (small) folder size for /var folder with docker images. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Use docker for development some time (store many docker images in /var folder) 2. Run Filelight for /var folder OBSERVED RESULT The Filelight will show that very little space is occupied, several hundred megabytes (453Mb). If run 'ncdu' tool for /var folder, in this case, we will see that much more space is occupied, in my case it is a hundred gigabytes (208Gb). EXPECTED RESULT The program should show how much space is actually used. In my case - 208Gb SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS OS: Manjaro 20.0.2 Lysia Kernel: x86_64 Linux 5.6.15-1-MANJARO Uptime: 33m Packages: 1356 Shell: bash 5.0.17 Resolution: 1920x1080 DE: KDE 5.70.0 / Plasma 5.18.5 WM: KWin GTK Theme: Arc-Dark [GTK2/3] Icon Theme: Papirus-Dark Disk: 240G / 464G (55%) CPU: Intel Core i5-8250U @ 8x 3.4GHz [66.0°C] GPU: Mesa Intel(R) UHD Graphics 620 (KBL GT2) RAM: 5851MiB / 7845MiB ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Partition Manager shows used space correctly. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
