During my attempt to move files using digikam, digikam just appeared to do nothing, so I pushed the stop button on all the "move album" items, hoping that at least some files would be saved. I was not able to unmount the disk (probably due to the usb connection problem). All was lost, appearently digikam had unlinked ALL the files. I later managed to restore files using photorec, but it is of course a mess.
