Did you test this with the 3.0 release builds, or the ones from
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/krita/krita-2016-lets-make-text-and-vector-art-awesome/posts/1594853
? As to why "it works with tool X, so it is fine!" isn't relevant, read
https://krita.org/item/anatomy-of-a-bug-fix/ . Paint Tool Sai probably doesn't
use this call to figure out the name of the tablet; so doesn't crash. But it's
still the driver that's to blame.
