Bug ID: 423733 Summary: Global scaling leads to rendering problems Product: kwin Version: 5.19.2 Platform: Manjaro OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: xrandr Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: hanspet...@mail.de Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 129813 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=129813&action=edit Rendering artifacts in console (simplest to reproduce) SUMMARY When using the global scale dail in the settings, and setting it to anything other than 100%, some applications start to flicker and on other parts of the screeen I get rendering artifacts. In the attached screenshot you can see these artifacts in the console. This problem makes it unusable, and to work on 100% scaling on a 4K screen isn't really fun either. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. (Probably optional, I can't test it) Use high DPI monitor, in my case 2K or 4K 2. Set global scale in settings to a value above 100% 3. If everything seems to work proberly, open a console and paste some lines (see screenshot) OBSERVED RESULT Flickering applications due to a general rendering problem, regardless of the video driver and tearing in some places EXPECTED RESULT Prober rendering SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: 5.7.6-1-MANJARO KDE Plasma Version: 5.19.2 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.71.0 Qt Version: 5.15.0 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Using GTX 970 as GPU, tried video drivers video-nvidia-440xx, video-linux, video-modesetting. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
