STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. start Wayland session
2. open system settings > workspace behavior > virtual desktops
3. configure virtual desktops (I use 2 rows and 4 virtual desktops) and click
on "Apply" button
4. restart Wayland session or reboot and start Wayland session again
OBSERVED RESULT
virtual desktops settings done in the step 3 were lost
EXPECTED RESULT
plasma should never lose the virtual desktops settings
