It seems that there are problems with the installations/uninstallations being executed asynchronously. I also remember from a patch some time ago that Dan said that we should make the install/uninstall stuff entirely async. Especially with the uninstalling process the steps are for the most part executed synchronously, this will need some rework ;-). Also when uninstalling a theme that the window is unresponsive while doing this. Same while installing, at least up to the point where the the spinner appears.
