SUMMARY
When I changed the positioning of two monitors in the corresponding KCM
(maximized), the buttons on the bottom disappeared after applying a setting. I
guess somehow the maximized window is moved after changing the positioning
leading to the disappearance of the bottom row of buttons. After restoring
window size, they where there again and I could maximize the window again.
