Also for future reference - if you encounter an issue, especially when it's something really surprising - like in this case, why would we release a version where painting is not possible? - so it seems like an issue with Krita on your computer, and not on all computers, please try to go to krita-artists.org first. KA is a user-friendly forum that has a special section that helps users who have those kinds of issues. And if there is a bug ("bug" is a technical term, it's narrower than an "issue" or "problem"), someone will for sure tell you to report it and explain how to do it.
