Did you still see the list of payees to merge, or did you still see the dropdown to choose the target payee? When you say to click on any of the payees you merged, where is that? If the merge finished, then all of them except one should no longer be present on the list. Did the merge ultimately complete without further error, or was there another error, or did you cancel the merge?
