            Bug ID: 364357
Summary: muon seems not to load the software list and stops
           Product: muon
           Version: 2.2.0
          Platform: Kubuntu Packages
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: crash
          Priority: NOR
         Component: muon
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
                CC: [email protected], [email protected]

Meanwhile I had twice a system notification about new system updates. Usually
the muon icon appears next to the notification icon in the system tray but not
those recent two times.

So when I start muon updater (manually) it states that the system is up to
date.

Now when I start a check for updates it starts loading the software list and
stops with the message that everything is up to date.
Meanwhile something new: on the third manual update check an error message
appeared saying "unable to load packages" but without details available. But
again the status says everything is up to date.

What can I do? Who can help?

By the way, this is my second incident with muon updater. Is it possible to
install a newer version for my Kubuntu 14.04 that might work better?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. run muon updater
2. click "Check for Updates" (not sure about the original menu title)

Actual Results:
nothing – except the notification that the system is up to date which seems not
to be

Expected Results:
the system should update

3.16.0-73-generic
#95~14.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Thu Jun 9 08:00:04 UTC 2016
x86_64
Kubuntu 14.04.4 LTS
KDE 4.13.3
muon updater 2.2.0
