Yes, kwin doesn't support tiled monitors yet.
Regarding the issues you mentioned.
(1) it should be fixed in 5.20
(2) windows have their geometry in device independent pixels
(3) if you maximize a window, it will be constrained to only one monitor. In
order to make a window cover several monitors, you need to set the geometry
