Bug ID: 428302 Summary: Stylus eraser assigned to first tool active when flipping stylus to eraser side Product: krita Version: 4.4.0 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: minor Priority: NOR Component: tablet support Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: pangolinmontanari....@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY The first time after Krita is opened that the stylus is turned to its eraser side, the eraser is assigned to whatever tool the pen tip currently is, but only the first time that the stylus eraser is used. For example, if the first time the user flips the stylus to the eraser side is while the pen side is a brush tool, the eraser will be a brush tool. If the first time they flip to the eraser is with the figure tool, it will be the figure tool. However, if the user switches to a second tool with the pen tip, the eraser will remain the initial tool even after flipping to the eraser side with this new tool selected. This seems like a bug, since intuitively it seems like the eraser should either always be what the pen tip is, or always start on the same tool(such as the brush tool, which is most eraser-like in nature) and change only if the user explicitly chooses for it to do so. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. (Re)Open Krita. 2. Select a tool with the pen tip of a stylus. 3. Flip the stylus to the eraser end. 4. Flip the stylus back to the pen end and select a different tool. 5. Flip the stylus back to the eraser. OBSERVED RESULT The eraser side of the stylus is assigned to the initial pen side tool selected. EXPECTED RESULT The eraser side of the stylus is assigned to the CURRENT pen side tool selected. KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.68.0 Qt Version: 5.12.8 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Wacom Cintiq 22HD tablet used. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
