            Bug ID: 428674
Summary: keyboard layout reset to default on login screen
           Product: plasmashell
           Version: 5.20.2
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
                CC: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: 1.0

I have two keyboard layouts (gb, fr) as my laptop keyboard is British English
and external is French. I added "fr" through system settings > keyboard >
layouts > add. If I set the layout to "fr" during a session using the system
tray layout icon, and then either logout or reboot, the layout is switched back
to "gb" on the login screen, then revert back to "fr" after login in.

This issue does not happen on the lock screen (the layout remains to what it is
set during the session.

The expected behaviour is that the last layout used is conserve on the login
screen, even after reboot or log out.

It feels like this is to do with the fact keyboard layout are session specific
with some kind of default layout being set. It would be good for sddm to be
able to somehow access users keyboard settings when a specific user is selected
on the login screen.

Operating System: KDE neon 5.20
KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.75.0
Qt Version: 5.15.0
Kernel Version: 5.4.0-52-generic
OS Type: 64-bit
Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i5-8350U CPU @ 1.70GHz
Memory: 15.4 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® UHD Graphics 620

Sorry if this isn't filed in the right place, I could not see a specific SDDM
section. Feel free to move it :)
