Summary: ctrl+alt to split meshes in mesh transform doesn't

SUMMARY
I didn't test the mesh transform during test phase, because, well, vacation. I
however am unable to split meshes.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. select and area, go into mesh transform mode.
2. use ctrl+alt key combo.
3. Drag on any of the sides or nodes or anything
OBSERVED RESULT
These nodes and segments all seem to just move, split mode is never entered.
EXPECTED RESULT
Split mode is enabled and I split the mesh.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- My Keyboard layout is English (US, intl., with dead keys).
- Alt does active the underscores on the menu items.
- Ctrl+Alt works for the symmetric difference mode in the selection tools.
