I have newer laptop (some HP) now (since two years) and there's problems with intel GPU. My laptop have also dedicated GPU (AMD). I forgot I start this thread, but nowadays just looking at bugs.kde.org and saw this topic. I will try to disable some effects, as you suggest. Previous laptop is still there (lenovo ideapad 100-15IBY), but other family member uses it currently and it was flooded by coffee, so I don't known the problem will appear on it or it could been tested (cause it was flooded :-( ).
