Bug ID: 430932 Summary: Improve behavior of selection tool Product: kdenlive Version: 20.04.1 Platform: Mint (Ubuntu based) OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: User Interface Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org Reporter: pablo.pa...@cabolabs.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY There is an inconsistent behavior in the timeline using the selection tool. Sometimes clicking on a track selects the track portion (yellow highlight), sometimes moves the Project Monitor time pointer (the vertical line with the triangle on the top), and sometimes does nothing. This behavior is inconsistent, happens sometimes. For instance, sometimes after cutting a clip in a timeline to remove that portion, I cut start, cut end, then try to select (selection tool) that segment, and the segment doesn't highlight, and I need to click outside the track then inside the segment so it gets selected. As said, other times when I click, instead of selecting a segment, it moves the playback pointer (vertical line with the triangle on top). STEPS TO REPRODUCE It happens sometimes, always with the selection tool, or after changing cut tool to selection tool. OBSERVED RESULT Described above. EXPECTED RESULT All this makes losing time while editing. It would be nice to have a more consistent behavior for the action of selecting a segment and for moving the playback cursor/marker, and that the selection tool always select, without the need of clicking on different places of the clip in the track. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I'll try to make a video to catch the behavior described. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
