Right now (plasma 5.21) I am able to edit files in i.e. Kate and save the changes to a directory that's not "writable" for a regular user (a nice dialog is popping up, which enables the user to fill in their password). That's really cool... But, as far as I know, in Dolphin, there is still NO WAY to copy a file to a directory that is not writable for the current user (personally I still use "sudo cp ..." to do stuff like that. And... that was pretty much what this feature request was about.
