SUMMARY
I am a laptop user and at home I have my external monitor which I connect my PC
to when working at home. I also have my speakers hooked up to a port on that
monitor. The audio signal goes from my PC to the speakers via an HDMI cable I
connect my monitor with, so I don't have to reconnect too many cables several
times every day.
However, whenever I connect my monitor to my PC, the audio profile doesn't
switch automatically to HDMI output, so I have to manually do it in the
settings menu which takes quite a lot of time: System settings > Audio devices
> Additional > Profile.
So the feature I request is an option to switch between audio profiles directly
from the widget choosing HDMI output or the Analog output.
