Are you saying that packages (which ones? which kind) start to install before
you've supplied authentication? This is expected for Flatpak and Snap and
app/plasma add-on packages, since they don't require root permission. But
distro packages shouldn't start installing until *after* you've supplied
credentials. Can you confirm that it was specifically distro packages that
started installing early and failed?
