            Bug ID: 436620
Summary: Add "Insert Element" feature for other languages
           Product: kate
           Version: 20.12.2
          Platform: Fedora RPMs
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: part
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

One of the features for XML editing is the ability to use Ctrl+Enter to display
a dialog box and enter DocBook element names. It would be perfect if this were
available for (e.g.) AsciiDoc so that we could enter backticks, underscores,
asterisks, and more around words, strings, and so on.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. In an XML file, press Ctrl+Enter.
2. Enter "command" or any other term (without the quotes) and press Enter.
3. Kate inserts <command></command>.

OBSERVED RESULT

Only works for XML afaict

EXPECTED RESULT

Would love for this to work for AsciiDoc and Markdown, etc.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Currently running Gnome on F33 with various KDE bits.
