            Bug ID: 437146
Summary: Horizontal scroll on the 'battery and brightness' icon
                    no longer changes brightness
           Product: plasmashell
           Version: 5.21.90
          Platform: Other
                OS: Other
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Battery Monitor
          Assignee: k...@privat.broulik.de
          Reporter: kishor...@gmail.com
                CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY
In earlier versions, I could horizontally scroll (with my touchpad) on the
'Battery and Brightness' plasmoid's icon (while it is in a panel and the applet
is not open) to change the display brightness. This no longer works.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Make sure horizontal scrolling is enabled for your touchpad
2. Scroll horizontally on the 'Battery and Brightness' item in the system tray.

OBSERVED RESULT
Nothing happens.

EXPECTED RESULT
Screen brightness should be changed when the user horizontally scrolls with the
cursor on top of the icon.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.21.90
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.82.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2
Kernel Version: 5.10.36-1-lts (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11
Processors: 8 × AMD Ryzen 5 3500U with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx
Memory: 21.5 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon™ Vega 8 Graphics

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
If I vertically scroll on the icon, the brightness changes, but this is a bit
unnatural since the brightness slider is actually horizontal. Horizontal scroll
can be used on the icon for the volume applet, so this is not an issue with my
touchpad.
