STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. be on kate
2. open the open file dialog
3. close the file dialog
OBSERVED RESULT
See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWgqvNwJZuU the first time i close the
dialog doesn't happen and the second does, on the video is not super obvious
but in real life is super annoying :/

No flickering
