Bug ID: 438415
Summary: Incorrect brightness applied after low battery event
set brightness
Product: plasmashell
Version: 5.22.0
Platform: Manjaro
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]
Target Milestone: 1.0
SUMMARY
Maximum brightness is wrongly calculated after brightness has been set by low
battery setting.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set Energy Saving to reduce brightness to 10 % when on low battery.
2. Set screen brightness to 40 %.
3. Wait until low battery rule kicks in and sets brightness to 10 %.
4. Plug in notebook.
5. Increase brightness to 100 %.
OBSERVED RESULT
At 100 % brightness screen is not as bright as it usually is. I assume 100 %
now equals to 40 % brightness I had set prior low battery action.
EXPECTED RESULT
Brightness should be correctly applied after low battery action.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Manjaro unstable
KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.0
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.82.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I had no problem with 5.21.x.
Also would it be possible to implement feature that would restore previous
brightness after I connect power source after being in low battery mode?
Meaning I have 40 %, low battery mode sets it to 10 %, when I connect power
source, brightness is automatically set back to 40 %.
