The issue is still present in plasmashell 5.21.4 on Kubuntu 21.04. Leaving the
IBus Panel running and everything is fine. Close it and you lose all keyboard
input to plasma components. GTK applications seem perfectly fine.
Also the IBus Panel does not honor the "Show icon on system tray" setting when
the session starts. I have it unchecked (do not show) and yet it comes back on
every logon. Checking the box and unchecking it again hides the tray icon.
