If you have a large collection with 100,000 images, you will probably not notice anything, even if 1,000 images have been removed or added. The next step I plan to do is to monitor the folder modified date instead of always checking all images for the modified date. This will, when implemented, mean a database update. However, the first tests also show that it does not bring as much as hoped, the current scan code is already quite highly optimized, we will see.
