Bug ID: 441806
Summary: Kwin moves maximized applications from second screen
to first screen after long sleep
Product: kwin
Version: 5.20.5
Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: multi-screen
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
When system wakes up after a long sleep, maximized applications that were
originally on second screen are now moved to first screen.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start thunderbird
2. Move thunderbird to second screen (monitor)
3. Maximize it
4. Wait for screen saver to kick it
5. Wait another half hour (or possibly more)
6. Shake mouse to wake up system
OBSERVED RESULT
Thunderbird is now on first screen
EXPECTED RESULT
The application should stay put where it was left before sleep (i.e. second
screen)
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma:
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.78.0
Qt Version: 5.12.2
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
It's the "natural" order of screens that is important here, not the "primary
screen" checkbox from SystemSettings->DisplayAndMonitor
i.e. to get thunderbird staying on my rightmost screen (rather than moving to
the one I had on left), I had to physically swap DisplayPort connectors of the
2 screens.
