            Bug ID: 444083
Summary: Media player widget cannot put action buttons on panel
           Product: kde
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org
          Reporter: david.cortes.riv...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
The media player widget offers many controlling options when it is clicked.
Usually, one would want this widget placed on a panel, from where it is not too
useful because any interaction requires clicking it first. Would be helpful if
this widget could offer options to display some of the functionalities within
the widget itself, so that I could configure it to e.g. have an easily
clickable play/stop and prev/next buttons, display the name of the currently
playing media, etc.

There are other widgets that can accomplish this but every plasma update seems
to break them in different ways so it'd be nice if the official widget could
support all the functionalities that one would expect out of this type of
widget.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Put the media player widget in a plasma panel.
2. Launch some music player and play a playlist.
3. Try to see what's playing, stop it, move to the next track (requires
clicking the widget first).

OBSERVED RESULT
All actions and relevant information require clicking the widget.

EXPECTED RESULT
The most common actions and relevant information should be configurable to
appear within the widget itself in the panel (like the unofficial widget "Media
Player Compat").
