Bug ID: 446175 Summary: Forcing virtual desktop doesn't work on wayland Product: kwin Version: 5.23.3 Platform: Manjaro OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: rules Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: hoffmann_lor...@protonmail.com CC: isma...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I have forced telegram to appear on my second virtual desktop on initialization for the whole program. Telegram is started automatically after boot. However, the window is not on the second virtual desktop, but on all in a weird way: Instead of the "Show on all desktops"-option being activated, all desktops are checked when I do right-click on the icon → move to virtual desktop. I have two virtual desktops, each on a separate row. I am using Wayland. Clicking on "show on all virtual desktops" and then selecting the second one solves the issue, but it reappears after reboot. Starting the program manually works perfectly fine. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Force a program to appear on a specific virtual desktop on initialization. 2. Start the program automatically on boot. OBSERVED RESULT The programs window appears on all virtual desktops. The entry "Move to virtual desktop" in the context menu shows that the checkboxes on all virtual desktops are checked, but the option "show on all" is not checked. EXPECTED RESULT The window should only appear on the specified virtual desktop.
