Bug ID: 446865 Summary: Global Menu Renders a Little too far to the Left and Teleports Right Product: plasmashell Version: 5.23.4 Platform: Kubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: minor Priority: NOR Component: Global Menu Assignee: k...@privat.broulik.de Reporter: antint...@gmail.com CC: mvourla...@gmail.com, plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 Created attachment 144472 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=144472&action=edit Video of behavior SUMMARY I have a latte panel on the top of my laptop screen. On the left (going to the right), I first have a very thin latte spacer, then an application menu widget, then a window title widget, and then a global menu widget. My issue is that when I go from desktop (so no window title or global menu showing) into an application, the global menu renders slightly to the left of where its supposed to go and then just teleports a little to the right. This makes for a very unclean animation. However, the global menu rendering slightly to the left seems to be intended behavior because it still happens when I remove all other widgets and just have global menu all the way on the left. But in that case it looks like it slides more to the right in a cleaner animation. Also, when I switch from application to application the global menu instantly appears where it should be and doesn't need to move. Attached below is a video to better explain the problem (slowed down to around 50%) STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Add global menu to latte top panel 2. Minimize all applications 3. Open an application that has a global menu OBSERVED RESULT Global menu renders slightly to the left of where it's supposed to be and then jerks to the right. EXPECTED RESULT Either global menu renders exactly where it's supposed to be or slides over smoothly instead of teleporting.
