Bug ID: 448602
Summary: Pressing sleep does not close application menu
Product: plasmashell
Version: 5.23.5
Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: Application Launcher (Kickoff)
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected], [email protected]
Target Milestone: 1.0
SUMMARY
Inside the new kickoff application launcher, pressing the Sleep button does
perform the intended function but does not close the application menu. Since
there is no visual feedback sometimes i wonder if i've hit the button and if
anything is happening in the few seconds it takes to put the system to sleep.
And then after it wakes up the application menu is still there open.
In my opinion this behavior is a bit confusing and pressing Sleep should
immediately close the application menu. I believe many of the other DEs have it
set up that way too. I also wonder if not having it behave like a standard
button and not closing the application menu opens the possibility of
accidentally hitting Sleep twice.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open the application menu
2. Press Sleep
OBSERVED RESULT
The system goes to suspend but the application menu is still visible.
EXPECTED RESULT
The application launcher is closed immediately.
