[krita] [Bug 449303] I had saved a file under a title and could open it at any time in the condition that it was in. However, when I accessed it today, the progress I had made on it had gone; I had opened the file a few times previously with all the progress I had made.

You probably had the file open twice, and saved an older version over the newer
version. Please consult https://docs.krita.org/en/user_manual/autosave.html to
learn how to make incremental backups and incremental saves.
