Bug ID: 450181
Summary: Memory Leak on Kwin?
Product: kwin
Version: 5.24.0
Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: major
Priority: NOR
Component: wayland-generic
Assignee: [email protected]

Target Milestone: ---

Mem usage after 10 minutes
SUMMARY
Kwin starts wayland session using about 50MB of ram.
If you keep using the PC, it will go up to huge amounts (got 1.5gb)
One thing I noticed is that if you keep passing the mouse on the task manager
to see the window thumbnail/preview it increases memory usage.
Eventually it goes down a bit, but never at initial levels.
Even after closing all windows/apps ram never goes down to initial levels (or
near them)
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Just use the PC?
OBSERVED RESULT
High Ram Usage
EXPECTED RESULT
Low ram usage
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
All window previews are black, don't know if that is related to "preview"
functionality or not.
