SUMMARY
Discover: Not possible to change package sources because root password rejected
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Boot and run system as normally done. Discover is started during boot
process automatically and residing in taskbar.
2. In KDE desktop window: open Discover from taskbar.
3. Switch to "Settings" -> Software Sources".
4. A pop up windows is shown "Als root ausführen - KDE-SU" ("execute as root -
KDE-SU"). command: /usr/bin/software-properties-kde
5. Enter (root) password.
OBSERVED RESULT
1. New pop up window shown. Als root ausführen - KDE-SU" ("execute as root -
KDE-SU").
Window says (German):
"Bitte geben Sie unten Ihr Passwort ein." ("Please enter your password below.")
"Der Zugriff wird verweigert. Möglicherweise wurde das falsche Passwort
verwendet. Bitte versuchen Sie es erneut." ("Acces was denied. Maybe wrong
password was used. Please try again.")
Password can be re-entered, but OK still leads to same window. No success. NOK.
Root password is rejected.
2. After pressing "Ignorieren" ("Ignore") instead of "OK" new pop up shown:
(Title not translated by pop up): "Need administrative powers. Please run this
software with administrative rights. To do so, run this program with kdesudo."
EXPECTED RESULT
1. After entering root password it should be possible to change apt sources for
Discover.
2. should not be necessary at all.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
(1) System was configured to use same password for both user and root and also
to log in automatically.
(2) Both root and user are only persons using this computer.
