Observe the clock (bottom left) pause at 09:33:16 (around 00:28 on the
timeline), again at 09:33:24, again at 09:33:27, again at 09:33:36.
Hogging of the CPU is visible more in GKrellM (to the right) than in htop
(background).
Generally, the desktop environment becomes almost completely unresponsive until
I kill:
/usr/local/bin/xembedsniproxy
For me, the problem:
* began a few weeks ago – almost certainly before Friday 4th March
* is reproducible on campus, with a wired network connection
* is _not_ reproducible at home, with a wired network connection.
